Tomorrow’s Forum of Insurance Lawyers announces its new president

Kishan Mangat has been announced as the new president of Tomorrow’s Forum of Insurance Lawyers (TFOIL).

Kishan, a solicitor at DWF and previously TFOIL’s communications officer, succeeds Browne Jacobson’s Mukesh Kainth, who has held the role of president since November 2016. Kishan’s particular expertise within the insurance arena is catastrophic injury claims, including road traffic accidents and product liability. She has experience in handling large-scale and cross-border claims, and also offers niche specialisation in brain injury and amputation cases.

TFOIL was established in 2013 by the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) to represent defendant insurance lawyers with fewer than five years’ post-qualification experience. On her role as its new president, Kishan said: ‘I am honoured to be TFOIL’s new president and look forward to using this role to promote the interests of young insurance lawyers and to provide them a voice on key issues, such as innovation in the insurance sector, gender equality and greater diversity. I look forward to utilising the opportunity to carry on the great work of Mukesh, and my predecessors, in encouraging the training and development of TFOIL's membership – whilst helping them establish solid foundations for successful careers as insurance lawyers.’

Chief executive of FOIL Laurence Besemer added: ‘It is a pleasure to see Kishan take the reins as president of TFOIL. Her unique experience will enable her to bring a lot to the role, working closely with the rest of the TFOIL committee. It is fantastic to see the continued growth of TFOIL and the encouragement it gives young lawyers and their firms to forge professional relationships that will last for many years to come.’
