Firm appoints chief operating officer
Horwich Farrelly has appointed Thomas Reynard ACA as its chief operating officer. The announcement is the first senior appointment to be made by insurance heavyweight, John O’Roarke, who became chairman of the firm in February this year.
Thomas joins Horwich Farrelly from Premex Group. Previously, he held senior financial and operational positions at Parabis Group and PwC.
With a wealth of accounting and operational experience for organisations both within and outside the insurance sector, Thomas is taking on responsibility for harmonising Horwich Farrelly’s processes and practices to support its continued growth. In particular, he will oversee the firm’s continuing investment in systems, processes and reporting.
Thomas says: “I am delighted to have joined Horwich Farrelly at such an exciting time. With such sustained growth, built on a fantastic results-driven reputation, it is crucial we ensure the firm is agile enough to respond to opportunities quickly and effectively, maintain a low cost base, and continue to deliver exceptional service to our clients. I look forward to tackling these, and other challenges, to ensure Horwich Farrelly continues to be a leading provider of legal and handling services to the UK general insurance sector.”
John O’Roarke adds: “We were extremely impressed by Thomas’ wide-ranging and highly relevant experience. He is clearly the right person to join our growing firm and take on this important role.
“Since becoming chairman in February, I have been impressed by the commitment shown by everyone in the firm to defending our insurer clients’ interests. The emphasis that the firm puts on delivering a high quality service backed by high quality people is something that I am sure Thomas can help further enhance, ensuring that Horwich Farrelly continues to deliver for its clients whilst operating as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.”
