Three new partners and a legal director at Thrings

Law firm Thrings has announced the results of its annual round of promotions, with three additions to a partnership as well as a new director.

Natalia Sokolov, Robert Barnes and Alice Altounyan will all move to partner positions, increasing the Thrings partnership to 62, while Rebecca Balmforth will become the firm’s fifth legal director.

Bristol-based Natalia Sokolov (pictured, left) specialises in construction matters, particularly non-contentious matters such as procurement advice, contract preparation and negotiations. Robert Barnes (centre), who also works in the Bristol office, handles commercial property transactions and focuses on secured lending and development projects. In the Bath office, Alice Altounyan (right) works in the private property team, advising on residential property sales and purchases, remortgaging and equity transfers. In London, Rebecca will take on the role of legal director and continue to advise on commercial property matters including retail lettings, developments and commercial tenancies.

Thrings’ managing partner Simon Holdsworth said: ‘I would like to congratulate Natalia, Robert, Alice and Rebecca, who have consistently demonstrated an ability to understand and respond to their clients’ legal needs. Their promotions not only acknowledge their commitment and contribution to the firm, but also offer them the opportunity to influence its future direction.

‘Having recently stated its long-term commitment to clients in the south of England, Thrings is entering the start of the new financial year with a clear strategy. I have every confidence that all four promoted solicitors will excel in their new senior positions while continuing to deliver the high quality legal advice our commercial and private clients have come to expect.’
