A tripartite commission

Policy

The Legal Services Commission (LSC) is to be restructured around three directorates as part of its transformation from a body that administers legal aid to one that commissions services in the market.

The directorates of commissioning, business support, and corporate services will be headed by Hugh Barrett, Phil Lambert and Hazel Parker-Brown. LSC chief executive, Carolyn Regan, says: “The new commissioning structure gives more focus to our key activities in the evolving legal aid market. The basic model is one of nationally-organised functions with a strong local presence. It will greatly increase our business efficiency and lead to more consistency across the organisation.”
