Firm recruits duo of corporate experts in London & Exeter

Trowers & Hamlins has expanded its corporate capabilities with two new partner hires, Lynne Rathbone and Edward Hooper.

Lynne (pictured) has joined as the new head of the firm’s corporate team in Exeter. She was previously a partner in the government and infrastructure team at Browne Jacobson, and has also worked at firms Stephens Scown and Weightmans. Lynne offers broad expertise in the corporate arena advising both public and private clients. Commenting on her arrival, Lynne said: ‘I am delighted to have joined Trowers to grow its corporate practice. The team in Exeter has a strong existing client base and I look forward to working with the team to grow and build on this in the region and wider across the UK.’

Edward joins the London office after almost three and a half years as a partner at Taylor Vinters. He also previously spent nine months on secondment in the AIM regulation team at the London Stock Exchange. He has ample experience advising on transactional mandates, such as M&A deals, joint ventures and restructurings. Edward commented: ‘The Trowers & Hamlins team has strong AIM and Main Market transaction credentials, acting for companies and investment banks. Given the firm's market-leading real estate practice, there are exciting opportunities to build upon my expertise in advising REITs on their IPOs, fundraisings and acquisitions.’

Head of corporate Michael Pattinson added: ‘As a team we are expanding across all our offices. Lynne will be a valuable addition to the corporate team in Exeter and will add to the firm's existing portfolio of clients regionally and across the UK.  Edward also brings a great deal of experience to the firm and his extensive corporate finance experience will add value to our corporate practice.’
