Tupe payout

News in brief

The Ministry of Defence has agreed a £5m out of court settlement with UNITE for failing to inform and consult the trade union over the transfer of fast jet servicing from DSG St Athan to private sector contractors at the RAF’s main operating bases. More than 1,600 affected workers will receive £3,000 each in what is thought to be the largest ever claim for failure to inform and consult under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006.
