Ward Hadaway—Louise Masters

Family and matrimonial team welcomes partner in Newcastle

Ward Hadaway has appointed family lawyer Louise Masters as a partner in its family and matrimonial team. With nearly 20 years of experience and a background in collaborative law and mediation, Masters joins to co-lead the firm’s innovative One Lawyer, Resolution Together service.

The model enables separating couples to work with a single lawyer to reach mutual agreements outside court, offering what Masters calls ‘a dignified, thoughtful way forward’. She added: ‘I’m proud to be part of a team that’s leading the way on this, while also offering the depth of knowledge to handle complex and sensitive matters’.

Managing partner Steven Petrie praised her early impact on the firm, commenting that Masters’ ‘ability to guide clients through complex matters with care and clarity’ makes her a standout addition to the team.

Her hire reflects growing demand for less adversarial approaches in family law, as the firm continues to expand its services for clients seeking more collaborative and cost-effective solutions.
