The number of partners in Addleshaw Goddard's global investigations practice is rising to ten following the arrival from Jones Day of Harriet Territt, who has over 20 years' experience resolving significant financial regulatory, investigations, compliance and dispute issues for a client portfolio comprising several of the world's largest banks and multinational companies.
Harriet also has a growing practice working with clients on liability, risk, and governance issues in relation to emerging technologies and fintech, particularly blockchain and digital assets, decentralised finance, AI implementations, and consumer facing products. Her experience includes helping to set up the ground-breaking World Wire blockchain based inter-bank payment system.
Harriet regularly advises on complex issues related to global financial sanctions and money laundering rules, including representing clients before the Financial Conduct Authority and the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation. She has also undertaken highly confidential internal investigations and compliance assurance reviews in the financial and regulated sectors.
Leeds-based Harriet is the first partner hire in Leeds for the global investigations practice which comprises ten partners and over 30 other lawyers specialising in advising on matters across all aspects of corporate crime, including money laundering, fraud, bribery and corruption, asset recovery and sanctions, health and safety and environmental and into more unusual instructions relating to blackmail, perverting the course of justice, criminal contempt of court and a significantly growing expertise in investigations and enforcement actions relating to cryptoassets.
