East Anglia firm Birketts LLP has bolstered its planning and environmental team with the double appointment of Kali Yau and Ros Nuttall as legal directors.

Kali (pictured), who joins the Cambridge office, has moved to Birketts after more than 12 years with DAC Beachcroft. She brings with her extensive experience advising both private and public sector clients on a wide range of planning, infrastructure and highway law matters, with particular expertise in large-scale mixed-use and residential developments.

Ros, who also joins in Cambridge as a legal director, is highly experienced acting for developers and landowners in a broad range of planning matters, including pre-application review of planning applications, planning appeals, and advising on judicial review. She also offers experience in compulsory purchase and highways law.

Tom Newcombe, head of Birketts’ planning and environmental team, commented: ‘I’m delighted to announce that Kali and Ros have joined as we continue to strengthen the team with key, strategic appointments drawn from the public and private sector. Collectively the team has built a first-rate reputation in the market and we advise clients on all aspects of planning law and environmental law.’
