Dispute resolution director wins ‘Professional of the Year’

Alison McClure, a dispute resolution partner at Blake Morgan, has won ‘Professional of the Year’ at the 2018 Venus Awards National Finals, held on 12 July 2018.

Founded in 2009, the Venus Awards focus on recognising and rewarding local businesswomen around the country, with the ‘Professional of the Year’ title intending to highlight inspirational woman who have demonstrated success in their business community.

Alison, a healthcare litigation specialist and the divisional director of the 230-strong litigation and dispute resolution department, has been a part of the firm since 1984 (when it was known as Blake Lapthorn), and is based in its Southampton office.

Commenting on her win, Alison said: ‘To be awarded Professional of the Year is a real honour. The Venus Awards is an important event that promotes and celebrates the hard work of women in business. I am delighted and humbled to be recognised from so many incredible women at an awards ceremony that encourages gender diversity and empowerment.

‘With only 18% of senior positions in law firms held by women there is still a lot of work to do, however I hope the Venus Awards will inspire other women to reach their goals in the legal profession and the wider business community.’
