Blake Morgan—Zoe Wright

Property litigation partner joins in Reading

Blake Morgan has strengthened the property litigation team with the appointment of partner Zoe Wright in its Reading office.

Zoe joins the firm after almost 19 years with Shoosmiths LLP, where she was appointed partner in 2015. She specialises in land law matters, including telecommunications law, restrictive covenants and easements, agricultural and water law, and also advises investment landlords and corporate occupiers on a wide range of property asset management services.

Zoe commented: ‘Blake Morgan’s property litigation team has a diverse and impressive range of clients. The long-standing relationships the team has cultivated is testament to their drive to always put clients’ needs at the heart of their advice. What most attracted me to the firm is the opportunity to work across the Thames Valley, London and Cardiff to deliver strategic advice for a wide range of clients on complex commercial property litigation disputes.’

Philip Jardine, partner at Blake Morgan, added: ‘Zoe's appointment is key to our future growth and development and adds further strength and depth to the property litigation team. I have no doubt that she will help drive forward the firm's ambitious plans for our property group. Her conscientious and client focused approach has afforded her an excellent reputation for providing clear, commercial and practical advice to a wide range of clients. With a particular specialism in telecommunications law, Zoe’s at the forefront in advising on property issues that will only become more prevalent as the country continues to invest in super-fast fibre and 5G networks.’

Timing is everything—and the Court of Appeal has delivered clarity on when proceedings are ‘brought’. In his latest 'Civil way' column for NLJ, Stephen Gold explains that a claim is issued for limitation purposes when the claim form is delivered to the court, even if fees are underpaid
The traditional ‘single, intensive day’ of financial dispute resolution (FDR) may be due for a rethink. Writing in NLJ this week, Rachel Frost-Smith and Lauren Guiler of Birketts propose a ‘split FDR’ model, separating judicial evaluation from negotiation
