19 promotions in Glasgow & Edinburgh

Scottish firm BTO Solicitors LLP has strengthened its team with a number of promotions, including two partners.

Lynn Richmond and Lynne Cardow have both been promoted, expanding the total partnership to 47. Edinburgh-based Lynn (pictured, right), who joined the firm in August 2017, focuses her practice on IP and technology, data protection and online reputations. Lynne (left), who is based in the Glasgow office, specialises in handling professional liability claims on solicitors, accountants, brokers, construction professionals and others.

In addition to the partner appointments, 15 members have also been promoted to the position of senior associate. These comprise 13 promotions to the role in the Glasgow office and two in Edinburgh, and span a wide range of practice areas including personal injury, family and insurance disputes. Emma Barclay and Debbie Reekie have also been promoted to associate, in Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively.

BTO’s recently appointed chairman David Gibson (centre) said: ‘We are focused on recognising and developing talent at BTO and on encouraging new talent to join the firm in what is an exciting new phase in the firm’s strategic plan. These promotions, which cross a diverse range of specialisms, are evidence of the positive developments taking place across the firm and each one is testament to the valuable contribution these individuals make daily to their clients, to their colleagues, and to the BTO business as a whole.’
