Firm expands partnership with promotions

Burges Salmon has announced two upcoming additions to its partnership, Ian Carnochan in the London office and Richard Adams in Bristol, effective as of 1 May 2018.These promotions will increase the firm’s partnership to a total of 88.

Ian (pictured, left) is due to become a partner in the firm’s tax team, after six years with the firm. He specialises in advising on corporate tax issues, including real estate and commercial tax matters. His experience incorporates all manner of tax advice relating to transactional undertakings, including M&A deals, investment structures and property development.

Richard (right) is currently a senior associate after 12 years at Burges Salmon, and will become a partner in its construction and engineering team. Prior to joining the firm, he spent several years working in the construction industry, and qualified into this team in 2011. He offers particular expertise in the energy, utilities and transport infrastructure sectors.

The firm also recently welcomed a new partner to its corporate tax team, Sarah Lane (centre), who joined on 1 March. Sarah previously worked as senior managing director at FTI Consulting, and was also a partner at KPMG for 15 years. She is highly experienced in advising on corporate tax issues and UK and international tax controversies.
