Devonshires strengthens corporate & governance team

Housing specialist Matthew Waters has joined law firm Devonshires as a partner in the firm’s corporate & governance team.

Matthew, who has 17 years’ experience, joins from Bevan Brittan. His appointment takes the number of partners at the firm to 42.

Matthew works with organisations across the housing sector including local authorities, registered providers, developers, contractors and funders on a broad range of commercial, corporate and regulatory matters. He brings experience in corporate structuring, joint ventures, group reorganisations, estate regeneration, public and private partnerships for large scale housing and regeneration projects, structuring of development deals and funding.  

His advisory work includes supporting local authorities on the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and wider housing regulatory matters, and registered providers on corporate and governance matters.
