DWF—David Abbott & Claire Keat

Senior appointments in insurance services and commercial services announced

DWF has appointed David Abbott as managing partner of its insurance services division, succeeding Matthew Doughty following his appointment as group CEO in August 2025. A prominent figure in the London insurance market, Abbott brings expertise across reinsurance, political risk, political violence, trade credit and energy. He will be supported by Paul Jenks, who has been appointed chief operating officer for insurance services.

The firm has also appointed Claire Keat as managing director of its commercial services division. Keat has been with DWF for more than seven years and previously served as director of operations, where she played a key role in developing the division’s strategy.

Keat succeeds Paul Rimmer, who has led the commercial services division for more than five years. Rimmer moves into the newly created role of group senior partner, where he will focus on growth and client service, including acting as senior sponsor for the firm’s market groups.
