Forbes Solicitors—Stephen Barnfield

 Regulatory team boosted by partner hire amid rising health and safety demand

Forbes Solicitors has appointed Stephen Barnfield as a partner to strengthen its regulatory offering as demand grows in response to tightening health and safety laws. Barnfield (pictured, left) joins after almost two decades at Hill Dickinson and brings extensive experience advising public sector bodies, multinationals, SMEs and individuals on complex regulatory matters.

Barnfield’s practice covers corporate manslaughter, professional disciplinary proceedings and investigations into alleged breaches of health and safety legislation. He has acted on matters involving key regulators including the Health and Safety Executive, Care Quality Commission and Office of Rail and Road, among others, and will work closely with head of regulatory Ridwaan Omar (pictured, right)

Commenting on his move, Barnfield said: ‘New public venue safety measures… and the HSE’s renewed focus on occupational health are driving increased demand for specialist regulatory support,’ adding that ‘it’s a privilege to become part of this’. Head of insurance Kella Bowers said: ‘Stephen has extensive experience of handling sensitive, high-value health and safety matters… we are very pleased to welcome Stephen to the team.’
