Senior barrister joins as co-chair of international arbitration practice group

Gibson Dunn has appointed Christopher Harris KC as co-chair of both its international arbitration and judgment and arbitral award enforcement practice groups. A leading figure in international commercial and investment arbitration, Christopher brings over two decades of experience and joins the firm’s London office.

Penny Madden KC, co-chair of the international arbitration group, said Christopher’s arrival ‘significantly strengthens our international arbitration bench in London’ and aligns with the firm’s global growth strategy. She highlighted that ‘English law continues to feature prominently in cross-border contracts’ and that Christopher’s multi-jurisdictional practice ‘fits perfectly with our platform and client base’.

Rahim Moloo, also co-chair of the arbitration group, welcomed Christopher as a ‘brilliant lawyer and colleague’, adding: ‘We are delighted that he has decided to make Gibson Dunn his new home.’ Christopher said the firm’s ambitions made the move ‘an irresistible opportunity’, noting: ‘It is hard to leave such a special place, but I am glad that we part as friends.’

Christopher’s appointment follows the recent addition of Patrick Pearsall in Washington, D.C., and reflects the firm’s continued investment in its disputes capabilities. He will also co-chair the enforcement practice group alongside Robert Weigel and Miguel Estrada, supporting clients in complex cross-border enforcement matters.
