Star move
Guy Beringer, the recently retired senior partner of Allen & Overy, has joined the board of the College of Law as a nonexecutive governor. Guy, who joined Allen & Overy as a trainee in 1978, was elected senior partner in 1999. In other areas of the legal sector Guy was member of the Carter Committee on the Reform of Legal Aid and, in 2006, he was appointed Queen’s Counsel “honoris causa” for his contribution to pro-bono and legal services in general.
