Law firm hires new partner for litigation practice

Global law firm Kennedys has recently hired insurance litigator and casualty specialist David Strahan.

David qualified at the Irish Bar before his admission as a solicitor, and joins Kennedys after more than 9 years at Arthur Cox.

Specialising in insurance-related disputes for domestic and international insurers and their insureds, David has a significant profile in the contentious insurance market and splits his work between complex insurance disputes, high-volume insurance defence work and standalone commercial disputes for policyholders.

Nick Thomas, senior partner at Kennedys, said: 'David’s recruitment is the latest step in our strategic drive to grow our international insurance capabilities'

Andrew McGahey, an insurance partner who heads up Kennedys’ Dublin office, commented: 'I am delighted to welcome David to Kennedys. His skills will add to our growing capacity to provide our global and domestic clients with leading advisory and dispute resolution capabilities and he will strengthen our existing relationships with our global and domestic clients.'

David added: 'Kennedys is the perfect fit for me given the high-quality work it does, the blue-chip clients it has and the strong reputation it enjoys. Kennedys provides the best platform for me to continue to provide my clients with the service they require and to grow and develop the firm’s practice in Ireland. I am really looking forward to being part of the team.'
