LALIVE—Lorraine de Germiny

Partner promotion in London office

Dispute resolution firm LALIVE has announced the promotion of Lorraine de Germiny to partner of its London office. Lorraine’s promotion has increased the headcount of the London team to three partners and seven associates.

Lorraine joined the firm in Geneva in 2014, and relocated to London in 2020. She specialises in both international commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration, focusing in particular on the oil and gas and mining sectors. She is dual-qualified to practise in France and New York, and is widely experienced in a variety of arbitration rules, procedural and substantive laws, including international law.

Marc Veit, partner with LALIVE London partner, commented: ‘We are delighted to welcome Lorraine to the London office. She is a proven performer, very well-liked and respected in the firm and a real believer in teamwork across offices, which is one of the principal reasons for our success in London. She will be a fabulous partner to work with.’

Lorraine added: ‘Due to the cross-border nature of the work that we do, our London team has been able to demonstrate to clients how we work seamlessly with our colleagues in Geneva and Zurich, many of whom are qualified in other jurisdictions. We expect activity levels to remain high in light of commercial disputes arising out the current global pandemic and I am looking forward to working closely with Marc, Timothy and the team to develop our client offering further.’

The firm also announced the promotion of two litigation partners in its Swiss offices, Nicolas Ollivier in Geneva, and Dominik Elminger in Zurich.
