Dublin office gains two partners

Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP's (BLM) Dublin office has been boosted by the appointment of new professional indemnity partner Lisa Collins from DAC Beachcroft, in addition to the promotion of managing solicitor Rhona McGrath to partner.

Lisa Collins joined the firm on 6 January from DAC Beachcroft, where she was an associate. Lisa will launch the Dublin office’s professional indemnity offering, providing a London Market service to resolve claims in Ireland. She specialises in acting for insurers in professional indemnity insurance claims as well as related coverage issues and is experienced in defending claims against a broad range of professionals, including financial advisors, insurance brokers, auditors, accountants, solicitors, architects and engineers.  Lisa previously worked as a property and litigation lawyer at Matheson and has an in-depth understanding of the property sector and associated duties for architects, engineers, surveyors and valuers.

Rhona McGrath joined BLM in October 2012 as a managing solicitor. Prior to joining the firm she managed the in-house legal team of Aviva Insurance Europe SE for 12 years. Rhona has extensive experience in procedural and strategic defence of personal injury litigation. In addition to the management of a diverse portfolio of litigation files at Aviva, she provided support to the pre-litigation teams in both guidance as to claim value and tactical approaches towards claims settlement. Prior to Aviva, Rhona spent 10 years practising in defence litigation in Sydney. As well as personal injury litigation, she advised on a wide range of subjects including policy indemnity, product liability, medical negligence, construction law, fidelity guarantee and recovery.
