LNB news: HMCTS announces most hearings to be postponed until after The Queen's State Funeral

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has reported that most hearings will not take place on Monday 19 September 2022, after it was declared a bank holiday to coincide with the Queen's State Funeral

Lexis®Library update: All parties will be contacted with information on their new hearing date and venue, as all venues including the Royal Courts of Justice, Crown Courts, County Courts, Civil and Family Courts, magistrates’ courts, tribunals, business centres and Service Centres will be closed as a mark of respect.

HMCTS has said that urgent hearings including overnight custody cases will continue in consultation with the judiciary, but where possible these will be moved to either side of the Queen's State Funeral. Cases where defendants have been remanded in custody to appear in court on the day of the funeral will be adjourned until the next available date.
