Malcolm Pearson & Maria Watmough—Blake Lapthorn

Two new appointments strengthen London banking team.

Two experienced solicitors have joined Blake Lapthorn’s London based banking and finance team. 

Partner Malcolm Pearson joins with more than 20 years’ banking experience dealing with secured and unsecured lending structures, bilateral, club and syndicated, asset and acquisition finance. He also gives regulatory and general banking advice as well as acting for most of the main UK domestic banks and some private banks. 

Legal director Maria Watmough is an expert in banking and finance in the real estate division. She specialises in secured and unsecured lending structures and represents some of the UK’s leading domestic banks. 

Russell Jarvis, partner and head of the London banking and finance team says: “We’re delighted to welcome Malcolm and Maria to the London banking and finance team. They bring a breadth of experience and expertise, particularly in the education and the healthcare sectors and take our team up to a great platform of six, operating in the mid corporate market.”
