Mariafrancesca De Leo, Zia Ullah & David Flack—Eversheds

Three new partners for FSDR & investigations team

Eversheds has appointed three new partners to its financial services dispute resolution (FSDR) and investigations team in response to increasing client demand.

Mariafrancesca De Leo joins the firm’s Milan office as a partner from specialist financial services litigation boutique, Riolo Calderaro Crisotomo. Mariafrancesa specialises in banking and financial services litigation, regulatory enforcement work and investigations, and has acted in many of the most high profile banking disputes and regulatory matters in Italy in recent years.

Zia Ullah, an expert in anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and anti-corruption and international sanctions, joins Eversheds as a partner from Pannone where he held the position of head of compliance advisory. Zia advises clients on legal and regulatory compliance issues, internal and external investigations, enforcement and licensing.

David Flack joins Eversheds as a partner from UBS where he was in-house litigation counsel responsible for managing litigation and regulatory investigations for the investment bank in EMEA. David has been engaged in many high profile litigation and regulatory matters in recent years and will help bolster the group’s investment banking practice.

Matthew Allen, head of FSDR and Investigations at Eversheds, says: “The FSDR and Investigations team at Eversheds continues to experience significant growth and we are thrilled that Mariafrancesca, Zia and David have agreed to join us. Each are recognised subject matter experts and bring unique but complimentary qualities reflecting the geographical diversity of the work we do, as well as the team’s holistic approach to risk and compliance, investigations and dispute resolution. The issues faced by our institutional clients are increasingly cross jurisdictional and cross disciplinary, and we are continuing to build the Eversheds team to reflect the challenges that they face.”
