Dispute resolution specialist joins as partner

City firm McCarthy Denning has expanded the litigation and dispute resolution team with the appointment of partner Asif Ahmed.

Asif previously spent 15 years with Philip Ross Solicitors, where he served as partner. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, property disputes and contentious probate. His litigation practice, which also includes arbitration, spans a number of sectors such as oil and gas, retail, banking and real estate.

Asif commented: ‘I am delighted to join a team of commercial litigators who are highly-regarded in the industry. McCarthy Denning has a growing reputation for its litigation work, and I am looking forward to help build on this whilst developing my own legal practice.’

Ian Timlin, partner and head of litigation and dispute resolution at McCarthy Denning, added: ‘I am confident that Asif will further expand our wide-ranging commercial disputes offering to clients. Asif’s practice spans three key areas of litigation: commercial, property and probate, where client matters are often complex or novel in nature and can involve a cross-border element. As a team, we have grown significantly in size and experience, and Asif is the latest valuable addition with his robust litigation practice.’
