Partner comes on board to head up employment

McCarthy Denning has announced the arrival of James Froud as partner and head of the firm’s employment practice.

James has joined the firm after 13 years with Bird & Bird, where he served as partner in the international HR services group. His practice spans contentious and non-contentious employment law, including multijurisdictional restructuring projects, discrimination and whistleblowing cases. He also offers particular expertise in trade secret matters, including in the areas of restrictive covenants, team moves and injunctions.

Co-founder and CEO of McCarthy Denning Warren Wooldridge said: ‘James is an excellent addition to the McCarthy Denning team. He brings with him an impressive international employment law practice which complements our expanding corporate and commercial offering to clients. It is no secret that we have been recruiting a number of high-level lateral hires in recent months as we continue to grow, strengthening our core practice areas across the firm.’

James added: ‘As I begin the next stage in my career, I look forward to taking the lead as head of employment at McCarthy Denning. This is a great fit for me as the firm has established a strong corporate and commercial offering which aligns with my own international practice.’
