Legal tech company acquires litigation funding specialist

Legal tech business ME Group has announced its acquisition of specialist litigation funding company Quanta Capital.

Quanta, which focuses on litigation funding for commercial disputes in the £250,000–£2.5m range and matrimonial issues involving high net worth clients, will operate as a standalone business within the ME Group following completion of the acquisition. The managing director of Quanta Capital Simon Dawson will retain his position as well as taking a seat on the ME Group board.

Simon commented: ‘I’m delighted to be joining a group that is at the forefront of driving transformation in its sector. I look forward to working alongside Rob and the ME Group board to ensure Quanta Capital makes a significant contribution to the success of the Group.’

Rob Cooper, CEO of ME Group, also said: ‘We anticipate that Quanta Capital will be a significant driver of growth within our portfolio of dispute resolution services.  It will sit alongside our other business divisions, including ME Consumer and LegalTech.  We welcome Simon Dawson to the ME Group board.  He brings with him 15 years of sector experience including previous roles with National Accident Helpline Group, Slater Gordon Solutions and HCML Healthcare Services.’
