The Supreme Court has revealed the name of a terror suspect who was appealing against an order freezing his assets. In its first ruling, the Supreme Court named Mohammed al-Chabra—previously known only as G— following an application to challenge the suspect’s anonymity by six media organizations.
The media groups stated that the original anonymity order had been granted without media notification. It was also stated that the groups had not been allowed the opportunity to make representations under the Human Rights Act 1998.
Mr al-Ghabra is suspected of financing the activities of terrorist groups.
