IP & IT expert joins East Midlands firm

Nick McDonald has joined the growing team at Nottingham-based Nelsons Solicitors as partner.

Nick, who was previously at Browne Jacobson for 10 years, has joined the intellectual property and IT team at Nelsons and will assist in developing the firm’s expertise. A former IT consultant before going into law, Nick specialises in contentious and non-contentious IP and IT issues. He works across commercial litigation and contractual advice.

Nick says: “I am really excited to move to Nelsons which is an ambitious, expanding firm across the East Midlands with plans to grow its IP and IT capability. I very much wanted to be part of that, and will be helping to make it happen. There are some really great lawyers in the team here at Nelsons and I know we will be looking to offer our expertise to more people.”

Tim Hastings, chief executive at Nelsons, says: “We were delighted that Nick has joined us and his move is indicative of Nelsons’ ambition and desire to grow. Nick is a talented, high profile lawyer who is keen to grow our IP and IT offering to clients all over the East Midlands.”
