Double promotion sees two join the partnership

South Essex firm Palmers Solicitors have promoted two solicitors, Surjit Verdi and Jonathan Saunders, to partner positions, effective 1 August 2018.

Surjit (pictured) has specialised in family law matters since qualifying in 2004, and currently leads the firm’s family law team from the Thurrock office. She offers expertise in matters spanning divorce, financial settlements and domestic violence cases, as well as ample experience in children issues. Surjit said: ‘With the realities of modern family life rapidly changing, family law matters have taken on an increased complexity and importance in recent years. I am delighted to have been promoted to the partnership and I am looking forward to further developing the family team in the years ahead.’

Jonathan, who joined the firm in 2013, is based in the firm’s Basildon office and works as part of the wills, trusts and probate team. He specialises in succession planning, as well as estate administration, trust creation and inheritance tax planning. He commented: ‘It is wonderful to have received this promotion and I am looking forward to working with my fellow partners in the wills, trusts and probate team to further develop our practice.’

Partner Carey Jacobs added: ‘It is a pleasure to welcome Surjit and Jonathan to the partnership. Our decision to appoint them as salaried partners reflects their hard work and commitment to our clients over several years. I know that our clients will value their input in their matters.’
