Barrister & divorce expert joins the partnership

London firm Payne Hicks Beach has bolstered the family team with the appointment of partner Nicholas Bennett. His arrival marks the first time that a barrister has been appointed as a partner at the firm.

Nicholas joins the team after eight years with Farrer & Co, where he served as partner. He has extensive experience advising business leaders, celebrities and landed families on complex divorce cases, as well as pre- and post-nuptial agreements. He is a fellow at the International Academy of Family Lawyers, and lectures at Oxford University on the law of nuptial agreements.

Nicholas commented: ‘Payne Hicks Beach’s Family Department has an outstanding reputation, and I‘m excited to be joining the firm. I’m looking forward to working with all my new colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients at vitally important moments of their lives.’

Robert Brodrick, chair of Payne Hicks Beach, said: ‘It is our pleasure to welcome Nick Bennett to the Family department here at Payne Hicks Beach. He will be a valuable member of the team and we look forward to working closely with him as we continue to grow our strong family department through strategic external hires in line with increasing client demand – underpinned by outstanding levels of client service.’
