News in brief

Discrimination on the grounds of religious belief can occur even where the victim is harassed because somebody else holds certain religious beliefs. In Saini v All Saints Haque Centre the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) held that equality regulations were breached where an employee of a Wolverhampton advice centre was harassed because of another employee’s religious beliefs. The EAT found the unwanted conduct need not be on the grounds of the employee’s own religious beliefs.
