Trio of partner promotions
RPC has promoted Richard Breavington, Ben Goodier and Lambros Kilaniotis to partner.
Richard specialises in international insurance and reinsurance disputes and has a broad range of expertise including coverage, claims involving insurance intermediaries and large scale inter-insurer litigation. He also advises on aggregation, disputes on reinsurance policy periods, "follow the settlements" clauses, and mismatches between inwards and outwards reinsurance wording. He has particular experience in reinsurance of long-tail disease risks stemming from a secondment at a leading UK insurer. Richard joined RPC in 2011 from Herbert Smith Freehills.
Ben is an insurance litigator with significant experience dealing with both professional negligence and directors' & officers' claims. He has acted on a wide range of construction disputes, from representing engineers on large multi-party actions involving settlement, to defending architects in front of the Architects' Registration Board. He also has significant experience of negligence claims against brokers, accountants and financial advisers. Ben has held long-term secondments at two major UK insurers. He joined RPC in 2012 from CMS Cameron McKenna.
Lambros specialises in all aspects of EC and UK competition law, and has considerable experience in contentious competition matters such as market investigations, cartel investigations and competition litigation. He is a solicitor advocate with higher rights of audience and represents clients in oral hearings before the European Commission and national competition authorities. He was part of the RPC team which won Competition Team of the Year at The Legal Business Awards 2014. Lambros joined RPC in 2013 from PwC Legal and was previously at Herbert Smith Freehills.
RPC managing partner Jonathan Watmough says: "When we appoint new partners at RPC we're welcoming them as genuine owners of the business, with a real stake in our future success. That's the reality of an all equity partnership. So, naturally, the bar is set that much higher.
"Richard, Ben and Lambros have all consistently displayed that rare blend of technical excellence, commercial acuity, and commitment to client service that we expect from our partners and I'm really looking forward to working with them more closely."
