Temple Church is offering four choral scholarships for young female singers, soprano or contralto, as part of its equality and diversity activity
The scholarships are available for the academic year 2022-23. The choral scholars will sing alongside the professional adult choir, the Temple Singers, and will benefit from in-house singing lessons and mentoring.
The candidates should be aged 16-19, and may be children of members of the Bar or those who support the Bar.
Music is integral to the historic church, which dates back to the Twelth Century and was built by the Knights Templar. In 1308, it owned ‘two pairs of organs’ and, in the vestry, ‘28 choir copes and four little copes for the choristers’.
