Sir Geoffrey Vos announces retirement

Tech enthusiast and second most senior judge in England and Wales, Sir Geoffrey Vos, Master of the Rolls, is retiring from the judiciary at the end of October

Sir Geoffrey, who is also a member of the LawtechUK Panel, has championed both the digitalisation of the courts and legal clarity on emerging tech.

Baroness Carr, the Lady Chief Justice, said: ‘He spoke enthusiastically of blockchain, AI and cryptocurrencies well before the terms were commonplace, and he has long been a (and was possibly the first) paperless judge, demonstrating digital justice in action.’
