The solicitors’ Handbook will be replaced by ‘Standards and Regulations’ on 25 November

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) said Standards and Regulations is the culmination of four years of development, after gathering the views of about 35,000 members of the profession and public during four consultation exercises as well as other information events.

The new rules are already available on the SRA website at: www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/standards-regulations. The SRA say the main features of the new system are ‘simpler, shorter rules’ and ‘greater faith in the professional judgement of solicitors’.
