Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP partner Stephan Hutter has been appointed as the Republic of Austria's Honorary Consul for the German federal states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. The role involves representing Austrian citizens in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, and representing Austria at official occasions.

He is member of the supervisory board of Zumtobel AG and Zürcher Kantonalbank Österreich AG, and is engaged as a management board member of Städelscher Museumsverein in Frankfurt and member of the board of trustees of the Kronberg Academy.

“I would like to contribute to intensify the economic, cultural and social relations between Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Austria at this important European financial center” Stephan says, and adds “Despite increasing digitalization of our overall communication I believe in the importance of a consulate and the personal interaction”.

The Austrian Honorary Consulate in Frankfurt commenced operations on 5 May.
