Steven Sutherland & Natalie Jones—Damar Training

New appointments for legal apprenticeship provider

Specialist legal apprenticeship provider Damar Training has appointed two further legal trainers to its team, extending its training services into Yorkshire.

Steven Sutherland joins from Sheffield law firm Simpson Sissons & Brooke LLP where he had a dual role as training manager and solicitor.

Steven has 25 years’ experience as a practitioner across a range of areas and has particular expertise in property law and personal injury matters. He has designed and delivered soft skills and technical legal training to staff at all levels within the legal sector. Steven, who lives in Rotherham, will be working with apprentices based at law firms and in-house legal teams across the North and Midlands.

Meanwhile, Natalie Jones is moving into a training role after eight years’ experience as a personal injury fee-earner, in particular at Asons in Bolton and Nesbit Law Group in Bury. The appointments take Damar’s training team to 22.

Damar’s managing director Jonathan Bourne says: “I am delighted to welcome Steven and Natalie to our team. Their experience further strengthens our offer to the legal sector and broadens our national reach. We are now working with law firms and legal apprentices from Newcastle to Bristol and I am pleased to say that interest is increasing, particularly from growing firms that are embracing new and innovative ways of delivering legal services."
