Law firm appoints legal director

UK law firm TLT has strengthened its trust and estate team with the appointment of Claire Johnson as legal director.

Claire (pictured) has over 25 years of legal and tax experience and has long been recognised as a leading individual in the Welsh private client market where she previously headed up the private client offering at a substantial commercial firm. As well as regularly working with high net worth families across and down the generations, Claire has enjoyed a focus on advising business owners, working closely with corporate colleagues to provide a joined-up approach to business succession and personal planning.

Speaking of her appointment, Claire said: 'I’m pleased to be joining the team at TLT during such a pivotal time in the trust and estate sector. Indeed, the pandemic has, if anything, sharpened people’s focus on the importance of planning for the future. In an uncertain world, a common conundrum for many is how best and when to pass on family wealth, or the family business, in a measured and protected way whilst reducing the burden of inheritance tax. 

'As well as enjoying the quality and breadth of work for an enviable client base of private and corporate clients at TLT, I’m also looking forward to supporting the team during this time of growth and development.
