Legal funding firm welcomes managing director

Legal finance firm Vannin Capital has announced the appointment of Paul Martenstyn as its managing director.

Paul will officially take on the position from October, when he will move from his current role as deputy senior clerk at Fountain Court Chambers. In this position, Paul was the first barristers’ clerk to be granted a professional qualification by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and he was also a founding member of the Russian/CIS Arbitration Network.

Vannin Capital’s CEO Richard Hextall stated: ‘Having spent more than twenty years immersed in the world of chambers and litigation, Paul has established himself as a highly astute commercial partner. His understanding of the litigation landscape and unwavering commitment to support clients will be a tremendous asset to Vannin as we continue to grow our market-leading offering.’

Paul added: ‘Vannin is clearly on an upward trajectory, with an excellent reputation in legal finance and an ambitious strategy to capitalise on the continued growth of litigation funding internationally. I very much look forward to contributing to its continued success.’

Meanwhile Fountain Court’s senior clerk Alex Taylor commented: ‘Paul has been a stalwart of our clerking team for almost ten years and a clerk of absolutely the highest order. Although we will certainly miss him, I can see that the opportunity to tackle a new professional challenge and to contribute to Vannin’s progress through what Paul does best was extremely attractive.  We wish Paul every success and look forward to working with him in his new role.’
