Large loss partner is Weightmans’ gain

National firm Weightmans has welcomed complex injury specialist Catherine Kearney to its London office as a partner.

Catherine has joined the firm’s large loss department after two years with DAC Beachcroft, before which she spent 12 years at Clyde & Co. She brings with her 20 years of experience in personal injury litigation, and 15 in defending motor, public and employer’s liability claims on behalf of insurer and non-insurer clients. She was admitted to practise in Northern Ireland in 1999, Ireland in 2002, and England and Wales in 2005.

Rob Williams, partner and head of insurance at Weightmans, said: ‘Catherine brings with her a wealth of experience and exceptionally strong client relationships. We are confident that her arrival will bolster our growth plans for the insurance offering both in London and nationally, and we are delighted to have her on board.’

Catherine added: ‘The successful defence of insurance claims requires strategic support from specialist teams, which is especially crucial when large sums are at stake.
