Will Aid is mounting its annual month-long November campaign to encourage the public to have a professional will written by a solicitor. Campaign director Peter de Vena Franks said: “The lure of the cheaper alternatives to solicitors can mean the document is not properly written nor legally binding.” Some 62% of people surveyed by the charity prefer to have a will written by a solicitor. Law firms across the country have pledged to waive their usual will-writing fees this month in exchange for a voluntary donation to charity.
