Head of sales joins professional indemnity team

Risk management, insurance brokerage and advisory company Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has welcomed Matthew Gooden as its director and head of sales for the professional indemnity team.

Matthew joins the business from insurance broker Howden M&A. As a qualified solicitor, he began his career as a commercial property lawyer at what is now Gowling WLG, advising institutional clients on a range of real estate matters. In his new role, he will be tasked with driving new business leads for WTW.

Olivia Cooper, Head of FINEX GB at WTW, commented: ‘Matthew joins us at an exciting time in our growth strategy. This expansion of the team comes at a time of heightened demand for solutions across the full spectrum of professional indemnity services we offer for UK and international exposures—a demand that is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.’

‘This investment demonstrates our continued commitment to helping legal and professional services, financial services, and construction clients understand and protect against new risks and exposure.’

Matthew added: ‘This is an exciting move for me and I look forward to working alongside some of the best broking talent in the market and leveraging the specialist knowledge of professional practices that the team holds. The consultancy and relationship-focused approach we take with our clients helps us to deliver outstanding results and I am eager to start contributing to this.’
