International firm Winston & Strawn LLP has welcomed
corporate specialist Anthony Riley to its London office.
Anthony joins the firm as a partner after more than seven years
with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. He advises on corporate finance,
mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions, with particular experience
dealing with matters within the energy and infrastructure sector. He is dual
qualified to practice in New York and in England and Wales, and is fluent in
English, French and German.
The firm’s chairman Tom Fitzgerald said: ‘In recent years, the
firm has hired transactional and litigation lawyers within the energy and
infrastructure sector in Dubai, London, New York, and Washington D.C. Anthony’s
appointment reflects our mission to expand our offerings within this sector
internationally, with an emphasis on renewable energy projects.
‘Anthony is recognized as a top-tier lawyer in his field and his
strong background, particularly with new and emerging markets, enhances this
capability,’ added Peter Crowther, managing partner of the firm’s London
office.
Anthony also commented: ‘I am thrilled to be joining Winston
& Strawn at a time when the firm is growing and concentrating on developing
its capabilities in the corporate, energy, and infrastructure practices.’
