Jenner & Block expands investigations, compliance and defence team in London 

Jenner & Block is pleased to announce that experienced dispute resolution lawyer Lucy Blake has joined the firm’s Investigations, Compliance and Defence Practice as a special counsel in the London office. Ms. Blake advises clients on complex cross-border litigation and investigations, especially those involving business crime, business ethics, civil fraud, and public law issues.

Ms. Blake has a broad practice and advises multiple global corporates and financial institutions as well as individuals on a wide spectrum of issues, including bribery and corruption, fraud, cyber-crime, data privacy, human rights, and other forms of wrongdoing. She has a particular interest in helping clients through their most business-critical challenges involving public scrutiny, such as sensitive internal investigations into high profile matters, criminal investigations, public inquiries, and parliamentary proceedings.

Ms. Blake has consistently been recognised by the Legal 500 as a ‘Rising Star’ in Corporate Governance for her “financial crime and fraud expertise”. She is a member of the Board of Directors at Amnesty International. She has experience working on death row appeals at the Texas Defender Service in Houston and on UK human rights issues for Liberty, the UK’s largest civil liberties organisation, as well as acting on numerous pro bono cases, including human rights interventions.

Ms Blake’s appointment further solidifies the Investigations, Compliance and Defence Practice’s presence in the London and European marketplaces. Led by Ms. Braamskamp, the office’s investigations group is includes partners Paul Feldberg, Rob Dalling, and Kelly Hagedorn. 

Opened in 2015 with two lawyers, the London office has since grown to more than 20 lawyers and is highly regarded for its work in complex commercial litigation, investigations, and international arbitration.
