Firm recruits trade marks expert

Lewis Silkin has strengthened its trade mark practice with the addition of new legal director Georgy Evans.

Georgy is a solicitor and chartered trade mark attorney, who joins the firm after four years as CEO of Fir Hill Consulting. She is highly experienced in the field, having previously acted as head of trade marks at Shell, trade mark counsel at GlaxoSmithKline, and IP partner at Harbottle & Lewis. She offers expertise in managing international trade mark portfolios, handling anti-counterfeiting issues, and securing trade mark rights, with experience within the pharmaceutical, retail, energy and cosmetics sectors.

Georgy said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Lewis Silkin’s trade mark group during this period of growth. The firm’s international standing and reputation complements my practice and experience, and I am excited to be joining the team.’

Lewis Silkin’s head of trade marks and IP portfolio management Dominic Farnsworth added: ‘Georgy’s impressive breadth of skills and experience in IP and trade mark law will doubtless prove to be a real asset to the firm and our clients. In particular, her expertise in managing large scale IP portfolios, as well as her international and in-house experience will further enhance our leading client offering. We very much look forward to working with her.’
