Training changes

SRA report broadly welcomed

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) consultation on changes to the education and training regulations was broadly welcomed by respondents, according to the SRA’s response, published this week. It proposed the removal of the need for solicitors to complete a training contract specified by the SRA. Julie Brannan, SRA director of education and training, said guidance will be published at the same time as the new rules are implemented, on 1 July, if approved by the Board on 21 May.
