New CEO for personal injury firm

Yorkshire-based personal injury firm Minster Law has appointed Shirley Woolham as its chief executive officer, effective this July.

Shirley, currently the firm’s chief operating officer, will take over from Michael Warren following his decision to move into a new role outside of legal services; Michael will nonetheless remain part of Minster Law as a non-executive director. Shirley said: ‘I am thrilled to be appointed CEO at a time of major changes in the claimant sector, thanks to government reforms, the onset of new technology and changes to how we need to service our clients’ needs.

‘Working alongside Michael, we have already begun to re-shape the business into a technology-led provider of legal services. Although these are challenging times for law firms, I am convinced that we will be well-placed to succeed in the online world that is rapidly emerging.’

Minster Law chairman Ian Leech said: ‘I want to thank Michael for his contribution to the business since he joined the firm in 2014, and I am delighted to welcome him to his new non-executive role.

‘Shirley was the unanimous choice as Michael’s successor, and I very much look forward to working with her as CEO. Minster Law has a clear strategy to become a technology-focused legal services business that dominates in its chosen markets, and as a key stakeholder in creating that strategy, Shirley is the best possible person to execute it.’
