Fladgate—Rebecca Cockcroft

Firm boosts family law team with new partner

Fladgate has bolstered its family law team with the appointment of Rebecca Cockcroft as partner.

Rebecca, who will lead the family team at Fladgate, joins after a decade at Payne Hicks Beach, where she was head of family law from 2019 to 2024. Rebecca will be reunited with her former Payne Hicks Beach colleagues Catherine Costley and Joshua Moger, who joined Fladgate as partners in December last year. She is also joined by Shivani Kerai, who is an associate in the Family Law team.

Rebecca has over 25 years of experience and is an expert in all areas of family law, with wide ranging specialisms including divorce, matrimonial finance, children, cohabitation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and Hague Convention cases. Rebecca regularly advises on complex financial cases, particularly those involving disputes or with international dimensions.

Rebecca has experience and knowledge running complex litigation and navigating sensitive matters across a diverse client list, representing high profile individuals, entrepreneurs, professionals and homemakers.

Rebecca said: ‘I am delighted to be joining the family team at Fladgate during such an exciting period of growth and to lead the team at this pivotal moment. The firm has an exceptional reputation in advising individuals and families in the private wealth arena. Fladgate’s highly regarded wealth and reputation management team and wider dispute resolution offering, as well as its expanding services beyond the legal sphere, makes the firm an ideal fit for my clients and for me.

‘Our clients' needs are constantly evolving, and they require an all-encompassing service which we are able to offer at Fladgate. I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued success and growth.’

John Evans, head of dispute resolution at Fladgate, added: ‘Rebecca’s calibre and expertise in dispute resolution is an incalculable asset to our existing practice. Her joining Fladgate reflects our commitment to excellence, and we are thrilled to have one of the UK's leading divorce and family lawyers on our team.’

Grant Gordon, managing partner at Fladgate, said: ‘Rebecca has an exceptional track record of delivering the highest level of service to clients and is a valuable addition to our expanding family law team. Rebecca’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to growing our dispute resolution and private wealth offering, which will sit alongside our existing top tier corporate, real estate and finance practices, building on our reputation as a firm delivering a differentiated service and premium approach in the private capital space.’
